happy pioneer day!

ok ok, so i know i'm about a week late for getting this up, but what can i say, we've been busy!

Last week our friends the Cooley's invited us to go float the Onieda Narrows in Idaho, we gladly accepted! it was so much fun to get to hang out with them all day on the river, it took us about 3 and half hours to float 7 miles, so as you could guess, it was a very relaxing day! However, we did pay the consequences that all "first-timers" pay, we got sunburnt, i lost my flip flops about 3 minutes into the adventure, and we got bumped on the bum by A LOT of rocks that we kept forgetting to look out for. but over all, we had an awesome time! we finished up the day with some lunch at big j's burgers, and then spent the rest of the afternoon at home taking a nice long nap...isn't this they way holidays should be spent? we think so!
p.s. kirst - thanks for bringing your sweet waterproof camera and sharing your pictures with us!

updates!

ok everyone, i haven't blogged in two weeks, and i just uploaded a month's worth of pictures to my computer, so i have EIGHT (yes, count them...1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 88888!) updates today! so read on fellow bloggers, and ENJOY!

...one happy family

the most exciting thing we did this weekend was get to go the bountiful temple on saturday afternoon to see my sister and her husband sealed there adorable kids that they adopted last september. it was so awesome! we love them so much and are so glad that they are a part of our happy little family! congratulations welling family!

...4th of july

we had such a great 4th of july! we started off the morning with a deliciously patriotic breakfast of fresh blueberry pancakes topped with fresh strawberries, and whipped cream, and delicious juice! it was so good that i had to take a picture of it and blog about it ( i know i'm weird) then we went down to north ogden to watch the cherry days parade, then went swimming for a bit, had a yummy shish-ka-bob barbeque, and fireworks that night at weber high. The next day we went to the cache valley cruise in with ryan's family. norm drove grandpa's old car in the parade....the first white one below, and his aunt also drove her cool car too, the white jeep-ish looking one below. so all the other cars are just some that we thought were really cool, especially the orange low-rider truck, and the back to future car (the wig on the driver made that one even better!) so overall, we had so much fun!

...tillis

my sister-in-law lauren trained a puppy to be a guide dog a couple of months ago and then sent him off to training school. He was all ready to graduate and be set up to go with a blind man, and then they found out he had come up 'lame' because of something that was wrong with his bone (as you can tell i don't know the story too well) but anyway, long story short, he got to come home! he's such a good dog and i love him...i want to keep him for my own, but i'll let them keep him i guess :)

...our new addition

we got a scooter! we finally can buy gas for only $5 a fill up, and get 70 miles a gallon...life's great! we love our new little scooter so much that we drive it pretty much everywhere. we took it to a church parking lot yesterday and i learned how to drive it. I'm still not quite "road ready" because my turns are so wide, but one day you'll see me cruisin' around!

...jordan's birthday

on june 30th we had a family birthday party for our nephew jordan. he turned 3! it was so much fun, we had dinner, adorable cupcakes, and a fun game of "pin the bus driver in the bus"! we had so much fun playing with the kids!

...golfing

so for those of you who don't know, Ryan got a second part time job for the summer, he works up at the Logan Golf and Country Club mowing the greens. This new job sparked a new interest in him...so we got him a set of clubs, and now he loves to go golfing all the time! one day after work he called to see if i wanted to go golfing, so of course i went, and our friends tanner and kirstin went with us too. it was so much fun, and a great way to spend a summer afternoon!

...random

ok so this is really random, but we saw a deer in the front yard! Ryan was out mowing his parents yard and he came into get me and was like "HURRY COME ON, COME ON!!!" it was awesome! but then a bird starting pecking at it and made it run away....wow deer can jump high and quick!

...baseball

Ryan has been playing baseball this summer with the Hyrum Hornets again. There are games every Tuesday and Thursday night usually, and random make up games or exhibition games in between. I love going to watch them, not only cause I love baseball, but because it gives me something to do all summer!
