little things

so as you all know, I started school last week. Since then, I have been busier than I have been in such a long time! Between school and work, I'm doing 60 hour weeks. I get up early, and get home late, and then then minute I get home, I'm off to a baseball game, church activity, family event, etc. On Saturday I came home from school, and Ryan and I were going to go grocery shopping, so I went upstairs to change, and an hour later Ryan came up and I was dead asleep on the bed. In other words, I've been feeling a little stressed since I started, hopefully once I get into a routine, my body will eventually catch up and just adapt...at least that's what I'm hoping for at this point.

Anyway, on to the reason for this post. On Sunday Ryan and I went to see my best friend Chelsea give her farewell talk. She is going to serve in the L.A. spanish speaking mission. I'm so excited for her, her talk sounded more like a homecoming talk rather than a farewell talk (one of the Stake counselors stood up after her, and the first thing he said was "well if I wasn't already a member, I think I'd sign up now!" and I think the whole congregation agreed, she was fabulous)

After the farewell events, we went to my aunts house for my family's monthly Family Home Evening. We usually just have dinner and a lesson by my grandpa, but seeing as the NBA finals were on tv, us girls found ourselves a lot more time to just hang out together. It was so nice to just sit around the kitchen table with my adorable cousins, aunt, mom, sister, and grandma, and just talk. It made me realize how much I really do appreciate the little things in life now that I don't have much time for moments like that anymore. I loved sitting there for 2 hours and talking about everything under the sun. They really are some of my best friends and I feel so lucky to have such a great relationship with my family and especially my extended family.

***Also some other updates of some things that we've been up do...
We are probably the cheapest movie go-ers you've ever met. We had free movie tickets, candy that we split into ziploc baggies, and some crystal light packets added to bottled waters left over in the fridge for our drinks...haha, we're awesome, we know.

Also, I just have to give a shout out to my cute garden, it's growing like CRAZY!!! look at where it was just a couple weeks ago here.

lastly, we celebrated my friend Tera's birthday by going out to dinner at Iron Gate grill (yum!!!!) and having a giant home made fh'zookie. It was amazing! Kevin didn't have any candles, so we just used matches for her to blow out, haha! Between the 4 of us, we ate the whole thing in less than 60 seconds, not even kidding! So happy late birthday again Tera!!!

5 hours down, 1,995 to go...

today was my first day of cosmetology school. It was SO much fun! for the first hour we just went over school rules and guidelines, then we jumped right in and started roller sets on our mannequins....this was mine when she was done under the dryer...

I was done doing her rollers about 20 minutes before anyone else in my class...I don't know if that's a good sign or a bad sign, but this is pretty much what she looked like when I was done (I didn't get an actual picture, but you get the idea, ha!)

So if any of you are interested in looking like this...look no further, I will transform you into this beauty!

Anyway, I really enjoyed my first day of school, and I get along great with a couple of the girls I met there. I'm really looking forward to the next year and half there, I think it will go by really fast!

weakness

I really think I will start buying these little flowers every time I go to a grocery store. They just make home so much happier with them here....and they're so cheap! I can't resist buying them!

UP!

last night we had a date night with our friends the Gooch's and the Luce's. We went to dinner and to the new movie UP! It was probably one of the most adorable movies I've seen in a long time (aside from EARTH, which was awesome too!) I highly recommend everyone to see it, and spend the exta $1.50 to see it in 3D, it makes the whole movie-going experience that much funner! Check out the trailor HERE.

FHE jars

Tonight I hosted an enrichment activity at my house, we made Family Home Evening jars, and they all turned out so good! We had about 17 girls show up, which was a great turn out! It was so much fun, everyone brought their own jars, they were all so different, and decorated so cute when we were all done. These are so easy to make, and the make GREAT gifts! You can go to this website here and get the printable paper slips, and then you just cut them out, fold them up, stick them in a jar, decorate it, and you're done!

Here are some examples of the final products, I told you they were cute!
this one is mine:

this is an extra one I made:

(I don't know why these two are so much smaller, maybe because they were taken on my phone, either way...)
this is my neighbor Kara's, where I got the idea:

this is one that I made for my friend Jessica, and cousin Taryn for their wedding gifts:

i'm in love with a new band, and this is my favorite song of theirs. It's my song of the week on the right hand side of the blog.

enjoy :) and have a lovely day!

long hair once again!

About a year and a half ago, I chopped off about 9 inches on my hair (for those of you who don't remember, check it out here). And then I got really sad about just a short 6 months later, here. All of that was one year ago, and now I'm so glad to tell you all that I got extensions! I know that most of you are thinking "why?? your hair was already long!" but I wanted it longer! And just to prove to you how un-long it was...well I'll just let the pictures do the talking.

before

after

Anyway, this picture makes it look really straggly on the ends because it was fresh out of the packaging. I just fixed them all, and straightened them all out, so they'll look great in the morning when I put them back in (they are clip in's).

Providence Aggies

The have games again all this week, on Tuesday, Thursday, and a double header on Saturday. So, if you'd like to come enjoy a fun game, then come hang out with me! I'll be there all summer long!
