little things

so as you all know, I started school last week. Since then, I have been busier than I have been in such a long time! Between school and work, I'm doing 60 hour weeks. I get up early, and get home late, and then then minute I get home, I'm off to a baseball game, church activity, family event, etc. On Saturday I came home from school, and Ryan and I were going to go grocery shopping, so I went upstairs to change, and an hour later Ryan came up and I was dead asleep on the bed. In other words, I've been feeling a little stressed since I started, hopefully once I get into a routine, my body will eventually catch up and just adapt...at least that's what I'm hoping for at this point.

Anyway, on to the reason for this post. On Sunday Ryan and I went to see my best friend Chelsea give her farewell talk. She is going to serve in the L.A. spanish speaking mission. I'm so excited for her, her talk sounded more like a homecoming talk rather than a farewell talk (one of the Stake counselors stood up after her, and the first thing he said was "well if I wasn't already a member, I think I'd sign up now!" and I think the whole congregation agreed, she was fabulous)

After the farewell events, we went to my aunts house for my family's monthly Family Home Evening. We usually just have dinner and a lesson by my grandpa, but seeing as the NBA finals were on tv, us girls found ourselves a lot more time to just hang out together. It was so nice to just sit around the kitchen table with my adorable cousins, aunt, mom, sister, and grandma, and just talk. It made me realize how much I really do appreciate the little things in life now that I don't have much time for moments like that anymore. I loved sitting there for 2 hours and talking about everything under the sun. They really are some of my best friends and I feel so lucky to have such a great relationship with my family and especially my extended family.

***Also some other updates of some things that we've been up do...
We are probably the cheapest movie go-ers you've ever met. We had free movie tickets, candy that we split into ziploc baggies, and some crystal light packets added to bottled waters left over in the fridge for our drinks...haha, we're awesome, we know.

Also, I just have to give a shout out to my cute garden, it's growing like CRAZY!!! look at where it was just a couple weeks ago here.

lastly, we celebrated my friend Tera's birthday by going out to dinner at Iron Gate grill (yum!!!!) and having a giant home made fh'zookie. It was amazing! Kevin didn't have any candles, so we just used matches for her to blow out, haha! Between the 4 of us, we ate the whole thing in less than 60 seconds, not even kidding! So happy late birthday again Tera!!!

  3. Hi Anna! I'm so happy to come across your blog. I love knowing what everyone is up to. It sounds like you are up too lots right now. What are you going to school for? Life is crazy busy when you first get married and are just starting out but there is an end to the craziness...but by that time you will probably have kiddos to keep you busy. Things seem to be going well for you. I sure miss you girls.
