Happy 7th Anniversary

We made it past the 7 year mark, and I have to be honest....I've still not felt the dreaded '7 year itch' that everyone talks about. I still love Ryan as much as I did from the first day, and even more so now over time. He is the best decision I've ever made, and I feel so lucky to have him!
This year for our anniversary, we headed to the Linq. We first had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, YARDHOUSE. Afterwards we headed to the High Roller and rode the awesome new Ferris Wheel. It was so gorgeous to see the amazing views across the whole valley, we loved it! Then we topped off the night with the most delicious ice cream sundae from Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory, and watched a live percussion performance going on in the center of the square.  It was such a fun night...and like a true 7 year old married couple expecting another baby...we were home and in bed by 10:30. It was a classic Vegas night ya might say ;)

House For Sale!

Ryan and I have ALWAYS been looking at houses and developments since we moved to Las Vegas and have gotten to know the area more. It's one of our favorite pastimes, and a couple months ago we stumbled upon such a gorgeous neighborhood in an area called Southern Highlands here in Las Vegas. It also had one of the biggest lots we found...ever (just under 1/4 acre, haha!) We loved it so much, so we made the decision that we would put money down on the lot, and get the house listed. We have a contract with the builder that hopefully our home now will be under contract to be sold within 30 days then they will break ground to start building the new home. We are keeping our fingers crossed, but also know that what will happen...will happen. IF everything goes to plan, and our home sells, we will be in a rental for the holidays and when the new baby comes, then the house would be ready in February. If the house doesn't sell however, we will stay put through everything and relist in the springtime and hope to find another lot that we love as much as the one in Southern Highlands!

Easton's Big Boy Room

Easton is officially in a big boy ROOM! We took the front off of his crib in January, and he did well in the toddler style bed, and this summer we finally got around to cleaning our the office and turning that into a usable bedroom. The whole thing turned our DARLING! Ryan did all the painting and it looks great! I also got a dresser from a friend that was moving a few months back, and I planned to refinish it, and of course Ryan took it over for me, and did such a great job! I am so happy with how the whole room turned out, and Easton is even more thrilled! His favorite part is definitely the basketball hoop. He can't wait until Papa gets home from work and they can go up to shoot hoops together!

Easton turns 3!

Easton had been looking forward to his birthday for a LONG time leading up to the actual day! He practiced blowing out his candles multiple times because he asked for them to be on almost every meal, every day, and it wasn't really worth the tears to tell him no. ha! (Unfortunate for him, the candles didn't even light at his party because there was a little bit of breeze...he didn't care though luckily!)
The night before his birthday, my friend Laura and I spent much of our 'Bachelorette' watching time blowing up tons of balloons to hang in front of his door the following morning. It looked awesome, and I was so excited for him to wake up and see them all. The poor little guy though woke up in the middle of the night, and when he went to open his door to come into our room, he saw them in the darkness, and was completely petrified! I ran into his room, and he was slowly backing into the corner away from the door and the balloons, and was screaming a sound I've never heard come out of him...I felt terrible! The next morning (in the daylight!) he LOVED them though! He and Boone had a great time running through them back and forth giggling all day!
For breakfast we made pancakes together, I let him pour sprinkles on top, and they were pretty much burnt crystallized sugar by the time he was done! He loved them anyway, especially with, of course, candles on top!
We had a pretty regular morning and afternoon, we went to the gym, everyone wished him happy birthday which we loved, then we had to run to WalMart for a few party items, and I let him pick out a new toy, he thought that was awesome. He picked a new Captain America figurine, and he played with it all day! He took a short little rest time, and then eventually came downstairs and it was time to get the car packed and head out to his party! I was a little nervous that no one would come. It had been overcast all day, and about 45 minutes before party time, big dark clouds rolled in, and it started to sprinkle a bit. His party was scheduled to be at the Reunion Trails Splash pad, so an outdoor party in July suddenly had me nervous!
Luckily when we pulled up and had the car all unpacked to everything under the bowery, the clouds went away and it was perfect party weather, low 90's and overcast so it wasn't blazing hot! And bonus...no one else was there because of the weather, so the kids had the whole splash pad and park to themselves! Easton had a lot of his little buddies show up, and he LOVED running around and playing with all of them. Ryan came after work and brought Little Caesars pizzas, we had grapes and Capri Suns, and the kids were in heaven! I didn't make a cake this year since I'd anticipated super hot weather, and didn't want it to melt. So instead we decided on a simple donut cake, and it was the best desicion ever! The kids LOVED it, and it was super easy clean up!
Easton was so spoiled, and even though we said no gifts (between grandparents and us, there were a ton!) everyone brought him a gift anyway. He had a blast opening them all, and came home with quite a stash!
It was such a great day, we love our sassy little 3 year old so much, and can't imagine life before his sweet little personality!

BIRTHDAY DONUT CAKE!

4th of July

Ryan worked the first part of the day on the fourth this year, so our festivities started that afternoon. We drove out to Nick and Sheena's for a yummy BBQ and to swim all afternoon, then we cleaned up and headed out to Boulder City for the Damboree Celebration. We have gone out there for the last three years, and the last two have been with the Harris' now. We love the small town feel you get out there. It's so much fun to watch the fireworks and have a live band playing around you with little kids running around and playing! It was a nice overcast day, and sprinkled a few times which turned out to the perfect because it wasn't miserably hot! Love the fourth of July, and we love making new tradtions with friends!

Kristin and The kids Visit!

Kristin and I talk very often with RubyClaire, and one day I mentioned that she should come down to visit and rescue me from a bad day....she took me up on it that coming weekend and I was so thrilled! We had so much fun planning things to entertain the kids, and soaked up every second of time together! Ryan and Norm were away to San Francisco for his graduation trip, so the timing was perfect and I was so glad to have company here instead of being alone!
