Happy 7th Anniversary

We made it past the 7 year mark, and I have to be honest....I've still not felt the dreaded '7 year itch' that everyone talks about. I still love Ryan as much as I did from the first day, and even more so now over time. He is the best decision I've ever made, and I feel so lucky to have him!
This year for our anniversary, we headed to the Linq. We first had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, YARDHOUSE. Afterwards we headed to the High Roller and rode the awesome new Ferris Wheel. It was so gorgeous to see the amazing views across the whole valley, we loved it! Then we topped off the night with the most delicious ice cream sundae from Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory, and watched a live percussion performance going on in the center of the square.  It was such a fun night...and like a true 7 year old married couple expecting another baby...we were home and in bed by 10:30. It was a classic Vegas night ya might say ;)

Anniversary #6

I forgot to post about our anniversary this past year, and I definitely don't want to miss it! It was so much fun, and Ryan went above and beyond this year to plan a fun night out! We started out by having lunch at Greens and Protiens, then we headed up to Green Valley Ranch Resort to check into our hotel room. We hung around the room and decided where we wanted to go eat and what movie to see that night. We decided on going to Elephant Bar, we hadn't been before, but have heard amazing things, and we weren't disappointed, it was such yummy food with a tropical flair! We went a movie...can't remember what it was, but I'm sure it was great! The next morning, Ryan took me to breakfast at The Cracked Egg, and holy cow...BEST COFFEE CAKE EVER! It was such yummy food, but we were so stuffed from eating so much the day before that I couldn't eat more than a few bites, haha, giant portions of delicious food!
We have had such an awesome marriage so far. I feel so lucky that I was set up on a blind date with Ryan and it worked out so quickly that we were married just a few months later! It's been so much fun, and he truly is my best friend that I can go to with everything and anything I know he be my number one supporter through anything!

my love.

5 years of Bliss

Once upon a time, about 5 years ago, I had the best day of my life! It's so much fun to look back through all of the photos from our wedding, I could do a photo overload, but I'll refrain.

August 30 2007
I was SUCH  a happy bride
of course, at Lindquist field...my second home growing up.
love you beby!
end of a perfect night!
I'm so lucky to have married such an incredible man. He is so sweet and thoughtful, and also is a manly man and makes me feel so special. It's amazing how he can be SO many things for me. I just love him!

Dinner at Lucielle's
It was Ryan's year to plan our anniversary and he went above and beyond, and completely spoiled me! Our actual anniversary was on Thursday, while my mom was in town. So she stayed home with Easton, while we went out for a quick dinner at our favorite restaurant Lucielle's. Since we planned on celebrating over the weekend, we came home right after and got Easton to bed, and did one of the most unromantic...but fun things I could think of....CLEANED THE CARPETS! (Ha, I'd rented a rug doctor and needed to return it the next morning.)

The real celebration was last weekend. Saturday afternoon, we dropped Easton off at our friend Nick and Sheena's and then headed up to Summerlin. We checked into our hotel the Red Rock Resort, and went straight to the pool. It was so relaxing! Ryan took a nap, and I read my book, and we were able to just hung out on the fluffy lounge chairs for a couple hours!
After the pool closed, we went up to the room, and I took a long bath and watched Top Gun (I NEED to have a tv above my tub one day!) Then we got ready and went down to dinner.
Waiting for dinner at Yardhouse
We walked around the casino for awhile, got tickets to the movie 'The Campaign' then went to dinner at Yardhouse. It was such yummy food, and we wish we lived closer so we could go more often.
me bowling
Ryan bowling
After dinner, we went bowling, I started out strong, but ended up being HORRIBLE, and Ryan won by a long shot! We still had awhile til our movie started, so we went to the sports book and watched some games until it was movie-time. The movie didn't start until 10:45, so we were tired enough that EVERYTHING was really funny! We laughed throughout the whole movie and had a great time!
After the show, we headed up to bed and wished that our bedroom at home was as gorgeous as the hotel room! We went right to bed and didn't wake up until 9:30. We got ready and checked out by 11:00, and as we drove away, we were wishing we could have enough money to afford to stay more than one night, haha!

It was such a fun anniversary weekend, and I am so lucky to have Ryan to spend every anniversary with, and every day in between!

Happy Valentines Day!

Today I get to celebrate Valentines Day with TWO Valentines! I love the two boys in my life more than anything!!! They are both amazing, handsome, thoughtful (Easton sent flowers!) and so so sweet to me!

I hope everyone is spending today with the people they love most! Whether it's family, kids, boyfriends, girlfriends, grandkids, a spouse, parents, grandparents, friends, etc. Today is a day for LOVE! So spread some love around your life! Enjoy this video, and remember it's about being together, not about the gifts you may or may not get.

4 years down...eternity to go!

This is a couple weeks late, but I couldn't let our anniversary go un-noted! It was such a great time this year, and something different since we have a little one now. It's amazing how much a little one can bring you together as a couple and make your marriage even stronger than it was before. So it made this year's anniversary really special!

We went 'out' to celebrate while my mom, grandma and aunt were here so they could babysit. So we took off into Vegas and went to a magic show at the Paris Hotel and then ate at Mon Ami Gabi, a really yummy french restaraunt in the Paris. After dinner, we walked the Strip for a while, stopped to watch the Bellagio fountains, and of course people watched. We were eager to get home though since it was our first time leaving our little guy, so we were back home by 10:00! (We aren't really big 'downtown Vegas' folks)

On our actual anniversary, Ryan had school all day, so I hung out with the other love of my life all day, and got a yummy candlelit dinner ready for when Ryan came home. Ryan had a gorgeous flower arrangement delivered to me. I carried it up and downstairs (depending on what room I was in) that way I could enjoy them all day! For dinner, I made us London Broil, baked potatoes, broccoli and carrots with cheese, salad, and homemade rolls! Easton gave us the best gift of all, and took a good nap during our dinner! It was all so so yummy, and we had way too many leftovers!

I'm so glad that we are here in Vegas as a happy family! Ryan is such a great husband, dad, student, and provider!

4 years

Today is our anniversary. Four years ago today I was on my way to the Logan Temple, getting my dress on, and waiting to go up to the sealing room and marry him forever! My Grandpa was our sealer, and he let us go into an empty sealing room for about 10 minutes before our own sealing, to just sit and be together. That was the greatest ten minutes of the day. I remember sitting together, trying to take it all in, and both being so excited.
Today is a lot different than that day, with Ryan at school all day and me home with a baby...but I wouldn't change it for a second! That day four years ago, with all it's planning and fanciness, has brought us so much happiness in days like this, to just hang out at home, eat a home cooked meal and watch a movie on the couch.
Ryan still makes me so happy every day, that's never changed! I'm so lucky to be married to such a hard worker who will provide for me and our kids for the rest of our lives. I love him so much and I'm glad to be his wife!

First Father's Day!

This year I was able to get Ryan his first official Father's Day gift! I was so excited to be able to celebrate this with him at such an exciting time in our lives. I didn't want to get him just a cliche gift (I'm sure he will get plenty of years of that to come!) So for his first gift ever, I got him a fishing trip!

We were supposed to go fishing on our second date about 4 years ago, and we have never been! So I decided that since he loves it so much, and we won't ever have another vacation without kids, it was a perfect time to give it to him! We went up to his family cabin in Pine, ID and spent the weekend on the south fork of the Boise River.

It was so relaxing to be outdoors and just let time waste away! Ryan caught 4 fish, one got away, two were gross carp, and one was a prized 14 inch rainbow trout! It was so fun to see him get exciting about fishing and doing what he loves and finally be able to share that with him. He taught me how to cast the line, and said I was really good, but unfortunately I wasn't good enough to catch anything.

The rest of the weekend was spent eating yummy meals, and way too many snacks, watching movies, sleeping in and talking naps. It was wonderful! A perfect way to relax out before moving and starting school in the next two weeks!

Day 27

A Person I Love

Well this is an easy subject, I love Ryan Orrin Doyle! Soo MUCH! He is the greatest person that has ever come into my life. He is loving, funny, forgiving, goal-oriented, he lives an active fun lifestyle, he is a return missionary, handsome, thoughtful, and he loves me....crazy guy!

I really feel like I hit the jack pot. I'm going to admit something to all of you, that might make you think I'm crazy, or you may relate, but not want to admit it! When I was in junior high, high school, and even into that first year of college, when I'd go to sleep at night, I would make up dreams for myself. I would let my imagination come up with the most perfect guy, how we would meet, how he would propose to me, what our wedding would look like. I even would imagine what my outfits would look like! I think any girl likes to think of these things right? Well, after my first date with Ryan, I didn't have to come up with my perfect first date anymore. And the more we dated, the less I would come up with in my mind, because it was becoming my reality. Now, when I go to sleep, I have nothing to think up! He's already made everything I could want come true, gave me the perfect dating life, proposal, wedding, a baby on the way, and a future that's too exciting to want it changed!

I love him so much, and am so lucky to be able to be his wife for time and all eternity. I can't wait to see him with our kids and watch him go from just a husband and friend, to a dad as well. I can't imagine a better person to raise my babies with!

Speaking of our first date, It was 4 years ago, TODAY! Happy 4 years to us beby! On our first date, Ryan took me on a group date with mutual friends to Fredrico's Pizza, and then to the movie Disturbia, and then hot tubbing afterwards with a couple more friends we'd met up with (Alex and Danielle....we owe our whole marriage to you!) Since Ryan has a baseball game tonight, we decided to celebrate earlier in the week, and we went back to Fredrico's, and to see a movie! It was perfect!

the original movie ticket stub from 4 years ago, and the ticket stub from Monday night's date :)

After he dropped me off from our first date, I remember telling my roommate "I don't want to date anyone else again, I want to marry him!" and after 4 years, I can't believe how lucky I am, because there is really no one else I can imagine myself with...
He is Perfect!

2nd Anniversary!

Two years ago today, Ryan and I were married! It was such a great day, and we had a great time celebrating all weekend!

We started out on Friday night going to dinner at Texas Roadhouse in Bountiful. It was my first time ever eating there, and I really wanted to try it out before I started working there in a couple weeks! It was so so good, and now I really can't wait to start working there, it was just such a fun atmosphere!

After dinner, we went to Orem to see Lonestar in concert. It was a great concert, despite our not so great seats. We ended up getting there right as it was starting, so we had to sit on the very far side, and the hill where we set up our blanket was like a 45 degree hill, so we kept sliding down, and pretty much had a wedgie the whole night! But the music was great! They are really fun to see live, and the sound good to!

After to concert, we drove up to my grandparents cabin in Oakley. We went straight to bed, since we get there pretty late. The next morning, Ryan made us some delicious crepes, and we had fresh fruit on top. We got all cleaned up and went up to Smith and Morehouse reservoir and had a nice little picnic on the beach and skipped some rocks (skipping rocks is NOT my strong point we found out, haha!)

After the lake, we went back to the cabin and took a nap then made some yummy dinner and took a nice evening walk. We saw a bunch of chipmunks, and squirrels running around, and we even saw a momma and a baby deer, They were so cute! Then we went back to the cabin and watched a movie and headed to bed.

This morning we just woke up and got all cleaned up and packed up and headed home. The Doyle's invited us over for dinner, so we went there and watched the Giants game, had some yummy dinner and played a couple board games.

All in all, we had a great anniversary, and most of all a great past 2 years. I love Ryan so so much and I'm so happy that I've been married to him for this time, and I get to married to him forever and ever! There is nothing better then getting to be with your best friend every day, and looking forward to every second you get to be together. I can't wait to find out what the future holds for us, and I can't wait to experience it all with you!

survival.

we're still here.

I am so bummed that I don't have as much time any more to update the blog. But there hasn't been much to miss out on. Ryan will be done with his summer class at the end of the month, and then will get about a month more of summer until fall semester starts again.

I'm still loving school. I only have about 3 more weeks of orientation, then I'll be out on the floor for appointments until I graduate.

I have been loving Ryan's baseball games, I'm glad that I have those to go to a couple nights a week, it's fun to get out and just enjoy summer for a couple hours before the sun goes down. I think he's been having a good time playing too :)

We've both been going to work.

Not much more than that going on in our lives right now....except I did just finish a great book today "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult. It was pretty sad, but so good. It took me longer than I'd hope to finish it just because of lack of time, but I do want to start another book, so if anyone has suggestions, leave me a comment!

also! in honor of the fray concert I'm going to tomorrow night, i've posted a link to their song in my "song of the week" box (which probably should be changed to "song of the month" whoops!)

true love

I finally got my laptop from college working, it has been sitting since we got married, and has been a great dust collector. Anyway, I was looking around on it tonight, and I found this little gem...

this was taken of my mom and dad while they were dating...maybe engaged, I don't remember. Anyway, I had this picture framed in my dorm room, and I loved seeing it everyday! I think it's so adorable to see how in love they were (and still are). They just celebrated their 30th Anniversary together this past weekend! WOW! One day Ryan and I will be to that point, it seems a long way off though! Anyway, enjoy!

my wedding is better than your wedding.

so i haven't posted anything in awhile, i know i know. but i also realized, that i have not only not been posting much lately, but i haven't even been posting pictures of us, or that matter even pictures that i've taken! i'm turning into an awful blogger and i apologize. so to make it up to you, i'm going to post about why my wedding was the best wedding day out of everyones (yes, that's right, even yours). And I'll let the picture do the explaining:

1. first and foremost i got to marry this hunka hunka burnin' love!

2. we found out that even though we were married, we were still attracting the opposite sex!

3. my mom brought snacks for us to eat while we were getting pictures taken outside the temple

4. my mom also made all these super cute dresses for my bridesmaids (my mom is awesome right?)

5. we had a band that came and played songs that he learned specifically for our wedding! such as "bubbly" colbie callait, "sunday" bebo norman, "on my mind" kalai, and others. talk about a cool band...

6. we had cotton candy!!!!!

7. i got raspberry filled chocolate wedding cake smeered across my face and veil.

these are just 7 of the reasons i think my wedding was great. and i'm totally kidding about ours being better than yours...i'm sure your wedding were great too! anyway, i thought i'd do a wedding post since i started my blog after our wedding and i've never done one since...also, i miss the warm weather and looking at these nice august pictures make me happy!

family pictures

A couple weeks ago Ryan and I had our pictures done. I LOVE how they turned out! Here are just a couple of our favorites! my top two favorites are: the silhouette one, with the sun in the background, and the one with both of us sitting on the railroad tracks. My friend from work Britney took them, and she's amazing, check out her blog at www.bebeautifulphotography.blogspot.com
