Visiting Utah

Each year we plan on going up to Utah to visit family and friends as soon as Ryan finishes his Spring semester. This year we left right after the Touro BBQ with the hope that Easton would sleep the whole time....he didn't. He actually only slept about an hour total of the drive, and was awake the rest of the time. He woke up around midnight when we stopped for gas in Utah County and was wide awake the rest of the drive to Logan, completely bright eyed and bushy tailed when we got there! His sleep schedule was really messed up for a few days and he didn't even take naps for the next 2 or 3 days. Despite that, we had an AMAZING trip! It is so fun to go back to see family and feel like we never left by just getting back into the swing of their normal lives.
We had a birthday party for Mason to go to, helped his parents get the house ready to sell, I helped them with modeling some new clothes for the store, we made dinners, had family photos, went to Ty's soccer game, got together with old friends for a BBQ at the park,  went to Maddie's dance recital. We went to lunch with Morgan and Dallin, and Morgan and I got pedicures and went shopping. Kim practiced her foot zoning on me, and also took me to see her instructor for a foot zone, which was incredible! We had so much fun in Logan with everyone, and it's weird to think that the next time we go up, Kim and Norm's home may be sold and we will have to stay in a new house. So many memories up there that we will treasure forever!

Miss our fun days back in our USU 63rd Student Ward!

North Ogden was the second half of the week, and we were super busy there as well. We of course spent lots of time with family. My mom planned a shish-ka-bob with my whole family as well as Jill, Royal, Lauren and Nick. We were also able to Skype with Blake and Taryn while they are in Tennessee, and Christian and Sam in El Paso. I went to Lauren's class at Gold's Gym with Jill one morning...crazy Lauren is so fit! My mom took my sisters and the grandkids to The Treehouse Museum and lunch, Jacob also had his preschool graduation. We were there over Memorial Day, so we went to Clearfield to put flowers on my grandparents graves, afterwards we had a picnic at the Pleasant View Park with all the grandkids. I caught up with my cute friends Christy across the street, and also went to a movie and ice cream with my Chelsea!

On our way home, we stopped in Draper at Ikea to do some shopping and got a new entertainment center, and we were lucky enough to have Alex and Danielle meet us for lunch before we got on the road home. It was a super fun and busy two weeks, and we loved every second we spent with our family and friends. As much as we love Las Vegas and our home here, we really do miss everyone in Utah so much!

Touro End of Year BBQ 2013

Last year we had a blast at the BBQ. The school hosts it at the Westin Lake Las Vegas, and it's beautiful! They have a big gorgeous pool, white sand beach, paddle boards, peddle boats, live music, free drinks and yummy taco stand and a photo booth! We had so much fun this year, Easton was able to play a lot more and be more independent, and he loved playing with the other kids and in the water!

Sheena's 30th!

My darling friend Sheena turned 30 this year, and my friends and I decided to spoil her. She has been through a lot of hard times these last couple years, so we wanted to have a fun girls night out to celebrate how amazing she is!
We started the night with dinner, I picked her up and told her that Haley and Taly weren't able to make it, but they actually were surprising her by already being at the restaurant. We went to Bocci Burger, a super delicious Japanese style burger place. It was even on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. When we walked in she was so surprised to see Haley and Taly! We had so much fun at dinner, and I had gotten her yummy cupcakes from the Cupcakery, so we lit candles and sang and enjoyed them too!
After dinner, we drove up to The Strip and went to New York New York to ride the Roller Coaster. It was incredible! I love roller coasters, Haley not so much...and Taly and Sheena had a ton of fun too! After the roller coaster we drove back down the strip, took a picture at the Las Vegas sign, and then headed home.
It was such a good night, with lots of fun and laughs and amazing memories! I'm lucky to have met and made such good close friends here in Vegas in such a short time!

Mother's Day 2013

Mother's Day this year was a simple day, Ryan was in the middle of finals, but he did still remember and brought me home flowers and my favorite magazines. And he took me out to Cheesecake Factory for dinner, he is the best! Easton was a bit of a pill at church, but isn't that what Mother's Day is all about? It was a little bit harder of a day than I expected it to be. With almost a year of trying to get pregnant, I think in the back of my mind I had thought I'd at least be pregnant by Mother's Day, and I felt really overwhelmed that day that I wasn't. Ryan is the best though, and made me feel so loved and special and I did feel better by the end of it.

Swimming Lessons

My amazing friend Tara did swimming lessons for some of the neighborhood kiddos this spring. He HATED every second of them, but he learned a LOT! Even still when we go swimming, he will do things that she taught him, and I was sure he wasn't paying attention. He is the only kid his age that can swim now with just water wing floaties. And he is such a fish. He has no fear of the water at all!

My mom is THE. BEST. Early in April, I took Easton and Caleb (baby I nanny) to the park. I was sitting on the bench, watching Easton run around, and I saw a lady walking on the sidewalk behind the basketball court fences. I thought to myself, "This lady is a CLONE of my mom! I have got to try to take a picture, or call my mom right now and tell her." All of the sudden, she crouched down and pointed to Easton and he went running over to her, it was my mom! She had COMPLETELY surprised me! I had no idea that she was coming down! She had been sitting in the parking lot area right in front of the park watching us play for like 10 minutes, and I had no idea!
We had so much fun, she just came with me on errands, helped me set up for a shower I was hosting, we went shopping, and most of all she helped a ton with Easton, and he LOVED having her here!
It was really the best surprise, and she came at a perfect time, I always end up getting homesick every couple months, so having her with me made me feel so much better!
